Online CBT

Online therapy can make it easier to fit support around daily life or meet from a space that feels familiar. I offer CBT by secure video call where this is suitable for your needs.

You work with me directly, with time to understand your experiences, agree on goals and develop practical ways forward.

Is online therapy a good fit?

We discuss this together rather than assuming that one format suits everyone. It helps to have a private space, a reliable connection and a device you can use comfortably for the session.

You may prefer being at home, or you may find it difficult to get uninterrupted time there. Some people find a screen comfortable; others prefer the room and presence of an in-person appointment. Your consultation is an opportunity to talk this through.

For younger children, I generally recommend meeting in person. We can discuss age, engagement, parent involvement and individual circumstances.

What happens in a session?

We start by understanding what you would like support with. Our work remains collaborative, with goals, practical strategies and regular reviews.

It can help to have paper or a notebook nearby if you like written or visual information. We can consider processing time, manageable activities and breaks where helpful. You are welcome to use sensory supports that help you feel more comfortable.

Preparing your space

Choose somewhere you can speak freely and consider whether you need to let other people know you will be unavailable. Check your sound, camera and connection beforehand. If privacy or technology is a concern, mention it during the consultation so we can consider the format together.

You do not need to make your surroundings look perfect. The aim is a workable space for you to focus and talk comfortably.

Fees and next steps

Online therapy sessions cost £85, last 50 minutes and take place weekly. Payment is by bank transfer within 24 hours after the session. Fees are reviewed annually. I hold a small number of reduced-fee places for young people or those experiencing financial hardship; please mention this when you get in touch if it applies to you.

The free initial consultation lasts 20 minutes and can be by telephone or video.

Can the consultation be by telephone?

Yes. The consultation can be by telephone or video; online therapy appointments are by secure video.

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. I support people who connect with the difficulties described on this website, with or without a diagnosis. We can discuss what you are experiencing and whether working together feels right.
