CBT for Adults in Cheadle Hulme
Life can look manageable from the outside while feeling very different within. You may be spending a lot of time worrying, finding everyday tasks harder, or feeling caught in patterns you cannot seem to shift.
I offer a calm space to understand what is happening and work towards changes that matter to you. We can meet in person in Cheadle Hulme or online where suitable.

What would you like to feel different?
You do not need a perfectly defined problem before starting therapy. We can explore experiences such as anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, stress, burnout or a harsh inner critic. Some people want help with a particular situation; others want to understand why familiar difficulties keep returning.
Our work begins with your experience and your priorities. A useful goal might be participating more comfortably at work, approaching something you have been avoiding, or responding to yourself with less criticism.
Working together
CBT explores connections between what happens, how you interpret it, your feelings and the ways you respond. We use this understanding to agree on practical work that is relevant to your life.
There is room to discuss the past when it helps us understand the present. We also focus on what could help now. Between-session activities are agreed together and should feel purposeful and manageable rather than like another demand to get right.
Therapy that appreciates the way your brain works
I take time to understand how you think, communicate and process experiences, so that therapy feels relevant and workable for you. We can explore pacing, breaks, written or visual information, sensory needs and practical support with activities between sessions. These adjustments are available to anyone who finds them helpful.
I also work with Autistic adults and adults with ADHD, including those who suspect they may be neurodivergent. We consider your strengths, needs and the pressures around you, validate your experiences and support the distress you want help with.
Sessions and your first step
Sessions are weekly, last 50 minutes and cost £85. Payment is by bank transfer within 24 hours after your session. Fees are reviewed annually. I hold a small number of reduced-fee places for young people or those experiencing financial hardship; please mention this when you get in touch if it applies to you.
The free 20-minute telephone or video consultation lets you share a little of what you are experiencing, ask questions and consider whether I can support you.
Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?
No. You can contact me directly without a diagnosis or referral. Therapy with me is for anyone who connects with the difficulties described on this website, whether or not you are Autistic or have ADHD. We can discuss your experience and whether my support is suitable.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your needs and goals. We agree on an initial plan and review the work together.
